What to eat for following diet for low carbs?
Coffee, black coffee, ice coffee, coffee with cream and stevia, Coffee.
Eggs and more eggs, including Jimmy Dean Delights-Egg’wich with 8 carbs and minus dietary fiber 2 so that equals 6 net carbs.
Turkey bacon, pork bacon, any bacon, yay!!
Light & Fit original Greek yogurt=plain for 7g total carbs. Tablespoon of frozen fruit including blueberries or strawberries. Sometimes as an extra treat a teaspoon of coconut cream. Heavy on the carbs, so tread lightly but delicious!
Did I say coffee?
Xtreme Wellness! High Fiber spinach & herbs carb tortilla wraps. Total carbs are 15 g -dietary fiber 11g=net carbs 4.
Cheese-yellow cheese, muenster cheese, swiss cheese, brie, blue cheese but no processed cheese.
Condiments-sugar free ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, horseradish, salt & pepper, etc.
Kefir-Love it from Aldi’s but there are many carbs so stay with one cup once a week which is 20 grams.
Did I mention tea? Ice tea, homemade…Lipton tea…Aldi’s tea without sugar and add stevia.
A glass of milk allowed but not too many. Cream or creamers is good as is fat so cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, etc. Butter is allowed in coffee to give extra fat and energy.
Without carbs, your body must adjust to the new diet. You can do it but it will take time, discipline, and a little scouting to find recipes best for a low carb diet. They are out there and I will share some of my finds. If you eat some of your favorite foods sparingly, it is possible to succeed with a low carb diet. You might not see the weight loss on the scale but you will notice in your clothes as with time you can take off your pants without unbuttoning them. You will notice changes with your body. Keep the faith and thanks for listening. Your energy level will also rise with adjustment to the new diet.
Would you care to add any advice?
Follow it up with a DQ Blizzard, 4 topping Pappa Johns Pizza, and a Kit Kat, and voila, a nice rounded out meal! Is it still Keto?
Okay…when I am size 8 again, I will have a DQ Blizzard for fun.
I’m not specifically low carb or keto but when I eliminate or severely reduce the white flour and sugar carbs I feel so much better.
Funny about the coffee. And the tea. 🙂
Today we’re thinking of making peanut butter cookies. But there is a lot of sugar in the recipes we looked at. Not sure now if we’ll google for another recipe or just forget about it altogether.
There are social media groups for keto on facebook where you can quickly print out the recipe. There are a few with peanut butter. I will have to share sometime soon. Today, I even discovered at Big Lots a keto cold coffee to take on the road with me!

Thank you very much!
I am hungry often but we eat lots of meat and low carb breads which are pricy but good. Sometimes I splurge and get English muffins which have like 25 carbs but they do the trick for a busy work morning.
I have never dieted before. But it try to eat healthier than I did five years ago.
That is a good start!
Thank you.
I notice if I eat less bread (etc), I do lose weight. Good luck with your efforts. I do love peanut butter cookies, so I intend to make the recipe you linked. Thanks, and enjoy your day!
Thanks. Yes, there are many breads and you can find a bread called zero net carbs at Aldi’s which has no carbs.
Does this zero net carb bread at Aldi’s taste good?
yes
Good luck, Cupcake. I can’t do diets like keto. I started dieting in March. Any food is fair game, but I limit myself to 1400 calories a day and track what I eat in a little notebook. CalorieKing.com has been helpful in estimating calories for take-out food. You learn quickly what you can have a lot of (salad) and what you can only have a little of (lasagna), what fills you up and what doesn’t. My fav indulgence is guacamole, sometimes on tortilla chips, sometimes on cucumber and radish slices. I walk half a mile a day with my dog (a whole mile on days I walk them both), plus whatever exercise is involved in my chores. I brush and floss my teeth right after dinner so I won’t snack in front of the TV. I weigh in once a week. I’ve lost almost 40 lbs so far. Keto isn’t magic. It won’t work unless your caloric intake is less than your caloric needs. (Read: you can’t eat all the bacon and cheese you want and expect to lose weight.) Best to you on your journey to size 8. 🙂
Thanks Just Joan. I am size 10-12 now. I get a lot of exercise with my current job. I also spend 1.5 hours in the gym on the weekend and when I have time, I walk the pug.
