  5. What is your best memory of a time you had to “tough it out” like “Rocky?” How did you become Rocky? Through exercise, thought process, mean expression (joking)or your actions?

My Best post: I have been writing my blog since 2012 when we first began our store Cupcake Cache. We closed in January 2016 as my husband had cancer and running a store with just the two of us became challenging. I have to say that from 2012-2014 when I wrote about setting up our business and my thoughts about it are some of my most interesting memories as I can remember sitting in the small back storage room listening to my husband talking with a customer while I blogged for 30-45 minutes. I alternated between baking and working as an English adjunct for a major university. At that time, I was working with teaching many Saudi speakers English grammar and writing skills. Some times they visited our store and met my husband and we had a chance to interact with our neighbors and for awhile, I felt very comfortable in this city which is not my hometown. I think these very honest and stark posts are my best.

The nominees! These are my go to people who I enjoy because we share a knowledge or a passion for something including cooking, living in the Middle East, life in New York City, or a similar type of marriage. One post I enjoyed reading mentions her husband’s driving: I can identify with her reaction. A good blogger is someone you want to have lunch with but you don’t live near each other, so you settle for reading their blog.
