!. I am glad to have the opportunity to have John Pendygraft photograph us for the TBT list of emerging businesses to watch. He is very talented.
2. Hopefully, we will never be interviewed again for Al Jazeera and that is not a bad thing. We are very grateful that they focused on us. But usually they do some deep interesting coverage and I am not sure it will be a good thing if one of us is featured again. Loved meeting all of them though! This plaza will most likely never have them visit again.
3. Their attention also brought us to the attention of a media personality in Germany who interviewed Mike on camera one day while I was teaching at Saint Leo.
4. We have become a greater part of the community. We know Mel and his family. His work staff visits us regularly. We have had round tables in our store from the Tampa Police Department and more recently, the Temple Terrace Department. We know school principals, teachers, students, neighbors, local businesses, etc. We have met people from each community including the Arabic community, Asian, Indian, German, Spanish, etc. So many students from USF, Saint Leo, and small private colleges including UT visit us. We meet people from Alaska visiting Busch Gardens and were taped by a couple visiting from France. In other words, we meet customers from all over the United States. We have even enjoyed visits from high school class mates!
5. We have had the opportunity to meet many local business owners including the owners of Full Access Magazine whose office are on Busch. Who would have known? We have watched reality shows being filmed across the way at Mel’s and missed meeting Lisa Unger, New York Times best seller, who sampled our cupcakes at Mel’s 40th anniversary.
6. We have learned to work together as a husband and wife team. We have come a long way from the beginning. Enough said. We have learned more than 62 ways to bake, stuff, and decorate cupcakes for the window, weddings, bridal showers, birthdays, etc.
7. We have watched many businesses not make it this past year. By March 2015, we will have been in business for 3 years. It has been a roller coaster ride with sharp plunges, lean times, harrowing fast curve balls but I am grateful for the ride we have enjoyed this far.
8. Thank you.
