What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun or fester like a sore and then run

Does it explode? Langston Hughes.  One of my favorite poets.  I memorized this so long ago reminding myself time and time again to follow dreams.  Rory Laurence followed his dreams and produced this play and several others including his own plays.  The pictures hang on our wall.  Whether you are a poet, a writer, a director, actor, actress, student, business owner, cupcake maker, it is so important to follow those dreams.  Without trying your wings, you are like the butterfly never metamorphosizing and staying close to your cocoon.  Even if you don’t succeed at first, or fail a few times…it is better than not letting those wings fly.  So, hot day….the kind of muggy Florida heat that puts you into a tailspin.  What to do? A cool drink, something nice to eat, communicate, work, and dream a little.  Remind yourself of those who have and read about them.  I find it inspiring to read about small business success of people who chose unusual routes or products and made them their own.  It is interesting.  It would be even better to meet them.  I am amazed at the number of business people who came from small small towns or really rough backgrounds and succeeded against odds.
