Business comes in fits n starts.  The men in my family played chess, drew tables of odds, and the women in my family read, cleaned, exercised and thought a lot.  Thinking is a lost art.  But it also gives you some resilience.  Cleaning clears the cobwebs, so when we are slow or when I need to think, I clean.  The dull repetition saves my day.  Some people do cryptograms, some play chess, and some play the stock market with imaginary money like I did years ago finishing boot camp.  It got me through. Some times we are packed and other times so slow.  It cannot be predicted.  The only surety is pay day is the middle of the month and the end of the month.  We do seem to get more business these times.
